Archbishop Jason E. Owen was born in Georgetown, Guyana, South America and migrated to Brooklyn, New York, USA where he earned an Associates in Pre-Physical Therapy from Kingsborough Community College, was enrolled within the Brooklyn College/Mount Sinai Medical Center MD/PhD Program in Neurological Research Medicine and earned a Master of Religious Education, a Master of Theology and a Doctorate in Sacred Theology from Lighthouse Christian College, Beebe, Arkansas.
Archbishop Owen served as Community Liaison of the ACCESS Diversity Initiatives within the VITAS Healthcare Atlanta, Georgia Hospice Program, as Community Partnerships Co-Facilitator on The Healthy Brain Initiative Coalition of the Atlanta, Georgia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, Chair on the Executive Board of CareGiver’s HOPE Atlanta, Georgia.
He also served on the Executive Board of the Conyers, Georgia headquartered International Alliance of Missionary Minded Churches, Inc. as Executive Treasurer, the National Executive Board of the Decatur, Georgia headquartered International Federation of Christian Churches and Ministries, Inc. as Chair of the Apostolic Council, as well as on its Southeastern Regional Executive Board as Facilities Director. Archbishop Owen further served as a member of the Concerned Black Clergy of Metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia, Inc. where he served on the Health Committee and as the Academic Dean of both Vision Christian Campus, Lawrenceville, Georgia and Kingdom International Bible Institute in Conyers, Georgia.
Currently as a Hospice Consultant and Contractor, he serves as both Spiritual Care and Bereavement Care Coordinator of the Dynamic Hospice Decatur, Georgia Program, he also serves as Chair Emeritus of the Board of Directors of Clinical Research Pathways, and as President Emeritus of the Community Advisory Board of the Morehouse School of Medicine Clinical Research Center both in Atlanta, Georgia.
He furthermore serves the Powder Springs, Georgia Gathering of The Eagles International College of Apostles and Bishops Congress, Inc. and Broken Vessel Alliance International Fellowship of Ministries and Churches, Inc. as Dean of Christian Education and Apostolic and Episcopal Advisor; respectively, the Denver, Colorado College of Archbishops, Inc. as Ecumenical Patriarch, and is the Ecumenical Patriarch, Metropolitan Archbishop and International Presiding Prelate of the Snellville, Georgia headquartered Biblical Deliverance Ministries, Inc.
Archbishop Owen with his late wife, Janine A. Owen who served as Senior Pastor of Snellville Biblical Deliverance Center, Inc. in Snellville, GA has three adult sons and three daughters-in-law, and with his current wife Phyllis N. Dowell-Owen and their one adult son, live in Atlanta, GA. They also have two grandsons and three granddaughters.
