Crossover Christian Church

Have You RSVP’d YET?
You’ve probably seen them on more invitations than you can remember. I’m talking about those four little letters RSVP. They stand for the French phrase “Respondez s’il vous plait” , which literally means “respond, if you please”. Most people who send an invitation that includes RSVP want their guests to let them know whether they accept or decline that invitation.
The Emily Post Institute says the biggest etiquette faux pas they hear about is guests not responding or RSVPing to invitations. Anna Post also
wrote in a column on the site saying: “failure to respond to invitation is so annoying to so many
It is therefore imperative that we respond to invitations.
All preparation was on going and as expected. I was given the privilege to invite my friends and loved ones. What I didn’t envision was the task involved. I pulled my list of invitees (guests) and immediately started to send the invite digitally. Some replied promptly, others needed a little or more reminders and coaching.
A few weeks to the ceremony, my son called me and said Mama, I haven’t received your response yet. After a pause I asked, “me?” He replied “yes, you Mama”. “I am your mother do you realize you cannot marry without my presence?” You can imagine the agitation in my voice.
“Yes, that’s why you have to RSVP” he responded. My temper rose but I had to take a deep breath. He continued “everyone must RSVP in order to attend the ceremony”. And how about your sisters? I asked. I know in my heart my son loves me but he loves his sisters even more. “Mama, we (bride and groom) have also RSVP’ d. As soon as one RSVPs, his or her name registers to us. “
I couldn’t have agreed any better with Chief Servant, my pastor Rev Ababio Gyebi (The founder and general overseer of Crossover Christian church). On April 24th 2022 the Chief Servant introduced his sermon and the topic was RSVP. I could relate to his message. As I remember vividly the incident around the time my son was planning his marriage.
Many times, we become complacent Christians. We have been born into the church, we take up duties and positions and often witness to others, but we have not yet responded to Jesus’s RSVP, the only permit to heaven. Are you cleansed by the blood of Jesus? Have you accepted Him truthfully with your whole heart?
Today, you will be overjoyed if you put ego aside, humble yourself to obey the calling of God and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior. That’s what obedience does. It beckons a person to lay down self and follow him who is worthy. Not only did I enjoy my son’ s marriage, I gained a wonderful daughter-inlaw and we have the best relationship anyone can ever wished for. What is your relationship with God?
It’s going to be even amazing in eternity when we meet our Lord Jesus Christ because we have accepted His blood and sacrifice. We are doted children of God and we are precious in His sight. Hebrews 10: 17 says He will remember our sins and lawless deeds no more. Allow the Holy Spirit to convict to you. RSVP to Jesus ‘ s sacrifice on the Cross.
